Vetenskap & Allmänhet, (Swedish: "Public & Science") is an independent Swedish association that works to advance and promote dialogue between researchers, scientists, and the public.
One of three missions for VA is in researching. For example the public's view of science and research, how opinion-forming groups in society view and use research, how researchers interact with society and methods for dialogue on science and research. Example: studies of the common attitude towards scientists and their work.[1]
The second of the missions is creating new forms of dialogue in unconventional arenas on themes that engage people. The activities include organizing meetings between scientists and the public, such as the first European Researchers’ Night in Sweden in September 2005[2] and Science Café events throughout Sweden.
The third and last mission is communicating knowledge and experiences.
